Purge a Toy a Day with Me in November!

If you follow on me on Instagram, then you may have seen my stories about this idea that I had. And if you're not following me on Instagram, you should be! @jennyradish

But the other day, after cleaning up yet another over turned bin of toys, I decided I want to massively declutter the toys before the holidays come. And I am going to do that by getting rid of one toy a day every day in the month of November. Would you like to join me?

I am going to encourage anyone that wants to participate to join my facebook group: The Official Radish Community. So that we can support each other and hold each other accountable. And if you're local, you can swap toys, too.

I'll help answer questions about selling on Facebook Marketplace. Because why not make some holiday shopping money while we're at it?!

The Facebook group will have lots of encouraging posts from yours truly. And I'll share my weekly accomplishments in a weekly post on the blog and in the group. I'll also be highlighting the challenge on my instagram stories and with the hashtag #radishnovember which stands for Recycle and Donate (that) Ish :)

For locals, I will put together a list of organizations that accept used toy donations.

The rules are simple:
Get rid of one toy every day in November.
If you run out of toys, move on to another area that needs some decluttering.
If you don’t have toys to purge, you lucky duck, pick whatever you’d like to have less of. This challenge is for everyone!
Donate the old toys. Or sell them. Or swap them. Just don't throw them out, unless they're beyond repair. Let's not add to the landfills.
Ask a friend to join! It's always easier to do stuff like this with friends, and I'm sure you know someone who would love to join in on the fun!

It will feel so great to clear out all these toys before the influx of new ones from well meaning family members come the holidays. And from what I've been reading, kids practice independent play better and use their imaginations more when there are less toys to distract them!

Let me know in the comments if you're in! Or just join the fun on Facebook!
